Rebecca Guard

Rebecca Guard:
Stop AI-assisted interview fraud before it impacts hiring decisions.

With Rebecca AI, hiring time can be reduced by over 80% while hiring costs decrease by up to 60%. However, even the best screening process is ineffective if the applicant is not who they claim to be. Rebecca Guard is the essential layer of protection against fraud potential during an interview by using AI to scan each potential interviewee and find prohibited tools, long-distance access software, live transcriptions, and more.

  • Detects prohibited tools
  • Privacy-first monitoring
  • Auto-uninstalls after interview

The Problem

Why interview fraud is costing companies millions.

Interview cheating via AI has gone from a small issue to a major part of hiring. Candidates use real-time answer generators, covert coaching tools, and remote assistance — and the cost shows up months later in missed goals and quick turnover.

Risk
Business Impact
Candidates using AI interview assistance tools during interviews
Increases the likelihood of hiring candidates whose actual skills do not match their interview performance.
Remote coaching or third-party assistance during interviews
Leads to inaccurate candidate evaluations and poor hiring decisions.
Candidates misrepresenting expertise or experience
Results in lower productivity, longer onboarding periods, and increased performance management issues.
Interview fraud and unauthorized assistance
Drives up recruiting costs through bad hires, re-hiring efforts, and higher employee turnover.
AI-Assisted Interview Fraud

What is AI-assisted interview fraud?

Any instance where a candidate receives assistance during a live interview — including tools the interviewer cannot see on the candidate's device.

  • Live, remotely generated responses to technical and non-technical interview questions
  • Desktop chat response suggestions received through use by an interview candidate
  • Hidden coaching tools that overlay prompts on the screen for an interview candidate's use
  • Remote control software that permits a third party to manipulate an interview
  • Live transcription tools that automatically provide responses locally to an external party
The Solution

What is Rebecca Guard?

A desktop app that verifies no restricted applications are running during a Rebecca AI interview — so recruiters can trust the results they receive.

Rebecca Guard does not score candidates or make hiring decisions. It confirms interview integrity alongside the browser-based interview.

Recruiter Setup

Enable Cheat Block in one toggle.

Recruiters turn on Rebecca Guard when creating an interview. Candidates complete a pre-interview device check that scans for prohibited apps before the session starts — ensuring every interview begins in a secure environment.

How It Works

How Rebecca Guard works.

1

Download Rebecca Guard

The candidate downloads Rebecca Guard through the link provided by the recruiter.

2

Launch & Begin Interview

The candidate launches the application and begins their Rebecca AI interview.

3

Application Scanning

Rebecca Guard periodically checks whether any prohibited applications are running on the device.

4

Real-Time Compliance

Compliance status is sent back locally to the candidate's interview session in real time.

5

Recruiter Insights & Auto-Uninstall

Interview integrity insights are shared with the recruiter at the same time as the candidate's interview results. Approximately one hour after downloading Rebecca Guard, it automatically uninstalls with no residual files on the candidate device.

Detection

What Rebecca Guard detects.

Rebecca Guard checks specific applications found within the list of prohibited applications — it doesn't analyze behavior or make assumptions about what the candidate intended to do.

Manual Detection Limits

How can recruiters detect AI cheating during interviews?

Most recruiters have an inherent feeling that something is off with some interviews — but there is no reliable method of manually detecting these signs at scale:

  • It's very easy to miss warning signs when watching a video, especially with such a high volume of candidates being interviewed at once
  • Most of the contextual clues that an in-person interview would provide to an in-person interviewer are lost when the interview is conducted remotely
  • Video only captures what happened during the interview; it will not identify the applications running on the candidate's desktop at that time
  • An individual and/or gut check cannot be implemented at scale across hundreds or thousands of candidates at one time

Rebecca Guard assesses the applications running on candidates' devices, giving recruiters a compliance-based signal rather than an opinion-based one.

Business Benefits

What business benefits does AI interview fraud detection deliver?

Improved Hiring Accuracy

Evaluate candidate skills based upon actual performance rather than responses provided by AI.

Reduced Bad Hires

Identify fraudulent interviews prior to making costly hiring mistakes by utilizing the Interview Integrity software.

Interview Standardization

Ensure every candidate is assessed consistently, creating a fairer hiring process.

Recruiter Confidence

Trust that provided interview scores, transcripts and references contain verified interview integrity.

Enterprise Compliance

Establish consistent hiring standards between teams, regions, and cycles with the Interview Integrity System.

Interview Integrity

Why is interview integrity important for hiring success?

Bad Hire Costs

Each time you hire a bad employee, there is a cost to re-hire due to recruitment, onboarding, and twice the time spent managing that bad hire.

Turnover Impact

Employees with misrepresented skills generally leave within a few months of being hired.

Productivity Impact

The team(s) have to fill in for the gap between when the employee underperforms and when you identify it is happening.

Hiring Quality

Each time you hire someone who has falsified their credentials in the interview process, you set a lower standard for hiring in future.

Employer Brand

If you allow standards to slip, both candidates and employees will see it.

Monitoring & Privacy

What Rebecca Guard monitors — and what it doesn't.

Rebecca Guard does

  • Detects specific prohibited applications running on the device
  • Verifies interview compliance status in real time
  • Shares compliance status with the active interview session
  • Confirms the interview is taking place under fair conditions
  • Runs visibly in the macOS menu bar or Windows system tray
  • Self-expires and removes itself roughly one hour after download
  • Gives recruiters an objective integrity signal per session

Rebecca Guard does not

  • Does not access personal files, folders, or cloud storage
  • Does not monitor keystrokes or clipboard activity
  • Does not record mouse activity
  • Does not access browser history or cookies
  • Does not monitor network traffic
  • Does not access email or text message content
  • Does not run silently as a background application

Privacy is a legitimate concern — Rebecca Guard has been developed according to a straightforward rule: it only looks for predetermined prohibited applications.

Comparison

Rebecca Guard vs. traditional proctoring.

Traditional proctoring software was developed for exam situations, not for the complicated and conversational environment of a job interview.

Compliance & Privacy

Built for compliance & privacy.

Rebecca Guard meets applicable privacy and data protection obligations in the U.S. and Canada by collecting the least amount of data possible — making it a strong fit for interview compliance software in regulated industries hiring globally.

Minimal data collection

Only application names, process IDs, scan timestamps, and basic compliance status.

No AI training on candidate data

Other than model training, advertising, or profile for the user.

Local-first operation

The results of a scan are transferred to a user's system locally, from the app to the actual interview session.

Temporary application lifecycle

Information will automatically expire after roughly one hour of downloading and can easily be removed manually in macOS or Windows.

Use Cases

What are the best use cases for AI cheating detection for interviews?

  • Staffing and recruiting firms who deal with large volumes of candidates
  • Enterprise hiring teams who are standardizing their global interview process
  • BPO recruitment companies working with large candidate populations that are remote or distributed
  • High-volume recruiting where manual review does not work at scale
  • Technical recruiting where AI-generated answers can be difficult to detect using auditory means
  • Campus recruiting where candidates are most likely testing new AI tools
Candidate Experience

How verification protects the candidate experience.

Before interviews, candidates will get a simple download link along with a short Disclosure, Consent & Privacy Notice clarifying what Rebecca Guard does and doesn't do. The app is on-screen during the time it's running and doesn't require special permission; it automatically deletes itself about an hour after being downloaded, so the candidates will not have to worry about what is still left on their computer.

Neither accessibility nor assistive technologies will receive any targeting unless the recruiting organization specifically identifies them as prohibited. Our objective is to conduct a fair interview — not one that intimidates the candidate.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Non-approved applications, for example AI interview assistant, AI chat applications, remote access applications, live transcription applications, etc., are determined by the recruiting organization through their policies via Rebecca Guard.

Rebecca Guard does nothing more than check for whether the prohibited application is running on the candidate's device. It does not analyze the candidate's actions or responses, nor does it monitor how the candidate uses their computer.

Rebecca Guard has been developed as minimally intrusive. There are no screen recordings, screenshots taken, keystrokes monitored, cameras or microphones accessed, personal files or messages viewed, or browsing histories accessed.

Candidates are able to uninstall Rebecca Guard at any time by themselves. The application is also designed to expire and uninstall approximately one hour after the time it was downloaded or installed.

For recruiting organizations to verify that the conditions under which the interviews were conducted, Rebecca Guard provides the ability to check for any non-authorized assistance that may have been available through the non-approved applications.

Rebecca Guard is available for both the macOS and Windows operating systems. When running, Rebecca Guard is clearly visible as an application to the user.

The results of the application scans are sent mainly locally between Rebecca Guard and the interview session. Any shared compliance information with the recruiting platform is governed by the recruiting organization's documented privacy and data handling practices.
